This is a lovely Akoya pearl brooch in sterling silver. It's pre-loved and in used condition. It is solid sterling silver with a rich rhodium plating.
The pearls are genuine Japanese cultured akoya pearls. They are slightly out of round and show some blemishing. As is common with some pearls, "pinking" was doing in this case too; where there is a light dye that aims to provide a bit of a rose overtone. I can tell just by the consecrations of color around the base of the pearls.
The pearls measure 6-7mm and the brooch is 1 5/8 x 1" (approx). The weight is 5.7g.
