About NLJ

New Life Jewelry (NLJ) is a two-fold business of gemological services and sales of handmade or up-cycled vintage and antique fine jewelry. Vintage and antique fine jewelry get an opportunity to be cherished again. New Life Jewelry also offers handmade and hand selected jewelry.

Gemological services include a traveling lab, and gem jewelry consultations. Please see the Services and Fees page for more information.

Please follow our Facebook page for before-and-after photos, as well as sneak peeks and special offers.

If you would like to create something custom, NLJ has an affiliate Jeweler’s Showcase site that allows you to customize designs and submit a request to purchase them below typical retail prices.

New Life Jewelry was born from a desire to bring a breath of fresh life into jewelry. By specializing in upcycled, pre-loved fine jewelry that otherwise may be discarded or neglected, we can give settings or gems a new lease on life. This also gives the piece a sentimental touch.

Whether a person is looking for a unique memorial piece of jewelry, redesigning one after a divorce, inheritance; celebrating a marriage, baptism, sobriety, graduation, or any new chapter of life… the hope is to create something that has a story of renewal, and becomes a symbol of hope.

New Life Jewelry has an outlet of new, and pre-loved vintage and antique fine jewelry called “New Life Jewelry ‘Vault'”. Here we also sell new pieces using a variety of fun and collectable gems.

About The Owner

Hello, my name is Melissa. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my website. I have had a passion for gems and jewelry most of my life. When in middle school, I began to save part of my lunch money to buy jewelry at a local pawn shop. As I could afford to, I’d buy more, or trade up. I had a nice collection of fine jewelry by about the age of 16.

In 2009 I began working with noble metals, redesigning, wire wrapping, working with silver clay (PMC), studying gemology, and vintage and antique jewelry. I began selling my work, as well as pre-loved pieces, in my Etsy shop under the name “EmBound”–which was named after my daughter.

Ethics and disclosure are so important to me. I want my clients, not only to feel great about their purchase, but to understand what makes it valuable, how to properly care for their pieces, and be able to have a story behind each treasure.

As a GIA Gemologist, AJP, with New Life Jewelry, I offer traveling lab services, estate consultations, and of course creative solutions to “second chances” for jewelry. I also create new pieces.

I hold all my major credentials from the Gemological Institute of America as well as education through the Cultured Pearl Association of America (CPAA). Should you need any assistance, please contact me.

Best Regards!
