This is a vintage natural turquoise from the Southwestern US.
The necklace is 17.5" long and wears more like a choker. It weighs 21.3g. For size reference, the center bead measures 19x13mm. For additional reference to size, please see photos.
It was purchased in pretty rough shape, but I've disassembled it (to protect the stones) and cleaned and polished up the silver to freshen it up. I only replaced the beading wire with solid sterling silver. with the exception of this and 2 sterling beads, all is original to the piece. There is wear to the elements--as should be expected for 50 years (scratches, small denting to to beads (see photos).
The chain and clasp appear to be solid sterling silver. The silver beads are behaving as sterling--and I was assured they were, but they have a nickel smell to them--which could just be what the silver, at the time of manufacturing, was alloyed with.
