This setting was pre-loved and modified to fit this unique natural zircon. This zircon is 1.99ct and over 8.6mm in an oval shape. The color is a greenish-gold. It contrasts nice against the solid 10k rose gold and it's 6 flanking diamonds (which total approx .08ctw)
The zircon is a thermochromic one. This means when heated, it changes color, then when cooled, the color returns to it's "normal" state. It does show some color shifting in various lighting (see photos). I have NOT attempted the flame test to see the color (often a red). I will leave that to the discretion of the recipient but will not accept exchanges on this piece as a result.
As common with zircon, there are little nicks to facet junctions from manufacturing and heat, under magnification. The ring is a size 8.75 and weighs 2.4g.

Thermochromism is a temporary condition that occurs when certain gems are exposed to temperature changes, causing them to exhibit temporary color change. This chameleon effect can be observed after 20-30 seconds of heating your gem over a flame and can be repeated indefinitely, but may be weakened or destroyed if you overheat the gem. Temperatures over 500F should be avoided. Once the color change is observed with the gem, it should be removed from the flame immediately. In daylight, the gem is a brilliant, cinnamon brown and its color changes to a spicy orange hue after careful heating. Don't be alarmed when your stone begins to revert to its original color within a few moments-you've just observed its thermochromic property first hand! After a few moments, the original color returns upon cooling to room temperature.
