This necklace was handmade by me using solid sterling silver wire. The sapphires (aka corundum) is natural and undyed, semi-translucent to opaque. Some of the sapphire beads show asterism (star sapphire). The beads average about 4.8mm wide and the necklace runs 17.5" long. It has a nice heft of 11.4g.
