This ring was made using pre-loved components. This bold piece features an 14x11mm oval natural, untreated grandidierite gem weighing 6.85ct. It is surrounded by about 1/3ctw of natural zircon (heat only).
Grandidierite most often shows heavy fracturing with translucency. I obtained this one from the lapidary and there are what appear to be some abrasions to the surface--mostly a result of the crystal's make up.
