This is guaranteed untreated, cuprian elbaite "Paraiba colored" tourmaline from Mozambique. It's set in a severely forged/modified sterling silver setting. The chain is made using chain, beads and wire, all solid sterling silver.
The tourmaline measures about 5.88x3mm. It's a bit windowy with natural surface reaching inclusions (typical for this material). The gem weighs .32ct.
The necklace is about 18 1/2" long and weighs 2.5g.
A word of caution... There are many people on Etsy and elsewhere on the web selling their material as "paraiba tourmaline", when in fact it's simple elbaite tourmaline that is similar in color, or simulated lab material. True Paraiba tourmaline comes from Brazil, but it's accepted in the trade to refer to copper bearing tourmaline from Mosambique and Nigeria as "paraiba" as well.
